The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday appointed its first female ambassador.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman issued a royal decree announcing the appointment of Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud as the kingdom's ambassador to the United States, Al Arabiyareports.
The princess is the daughter of daughter of Prince Bandar bin Sultan, who held the same position from 1983 to 2005.
"A graduate of George Washington University in Washington, DC, she has been active in the public and private sectors of Saudi Arabia, working toward women’s empowerment," Al Arabiya reported.
