A Saudi man apparently became angry last week when a cab driver declined his offers to snort some cocaine while on his way back to a Colorado hotel.
Majed Alhamad later admitted he was intoxicated during the incident -- but he told police that “he wanted to go ‘extreme’ while in Aspen."
The 60-year-old taxi driver told police that Alhamad repeatedly offered him cocaine during a cab ride early Friday morning to the St. Regis, but he said the 23-year-old student from Los Angeles became furious when the older man refused, reported the Aspen Times.
“(The driver) said that Alhamad used vulgar language and derogatory racial terms ... and ‘f---ing American’ while in the vehicle," police said in an affidavit.
Almahad also exposed his genitals to the driver before he “opened the small baggie of cocaine and spilled it on him,” police said.
The driver said he didn't want Alhamad to be arrested, but he thought the incident should be reported to police.
A police sergeant who investigated the report recognized Alhamad and his friend because he had helped the pair arrange a taxi cab ride earlier that night back to their hotel, the newspaper reported.
Alhamad told police he paid $100 for the cocaine from someone he met on the street but did not know, but he claimed that he later discovered it was only baby powder.
“I asked Alhamad how he knew it was not cocaine and he said it smelled like baby powder and he had done cocaine in the past,” police said.
However, police said the baggie returned a "presumptive positive" test for cocaine.
Alhamad was charged with felony possession of cocaine and harassment.
He admitted to insulting the taxi driver but denied that he spilled white powder on the man.
