Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been acquitted on the most serious charge of racketeering in his high-profile federal trial.
CNN's Elizabeth Wagmeister called it "the best possible outcome for the defense."
The jury found Combs guilty on two charges, count 5, the Mann Act transportation of former girlfriend "Jane;" and guilty on Count 3, the Mann Act Transportation of Casandra Ventura.
In addition to being found not guilty of racketeering, Combs was acquitted of the alleged sex trafficking of former girlfriend "Jane," and not guilty of the alleged sex trafficking of Casandra Ventura.
Combs faced life in prison on the RICO charge, a maximum of life for sex trafficking, and up to 10 years for transporting individuals for prostitution.
Tuesday afternoon, the jury reached verdicts on counts two, three, four and five, but told the judge they were unable to reach a verdict on count one.
The jury went home for the evening, returning Wednesday morning to continue deliberating on the RICO count.
The nearly two-month trial was based on allegations from two of Combs' former girlfriends. They alleged that they were forced or coerced into having sexual relations with those he demanded.
