Senate Intelligence Committee will get Comey memos detailing possible obstruction of justice by Trump: report

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, revealed on Wednesday that his committee will receive memos written by former FBI Director James Comey detailing conversations with President Donald Trump.

Burr confirmed to Politico that he had been given assurances that the memos would be provided to the committee.

Comey reportedly wrote the memos to memorialize several interactions with Trump, including one which allegedly says the president pressured the then-FBI Director to drop an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's connections to Russia.

“I’ve got a commitment,” Burr told Politico. However, the senator would not say who gave him the commitment.

Legal experts have said that the memos could point to possible obstruction of justice by the president.
