Attorney Michael Avenatti slammed Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) for supporting the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh despite multiple allegations of sexual assault.
"Senator Collins is channeling Donald Trump," Avenatti tweeted, while Collins was speaking on the floor of the United States Senate.
"Entirely disingenuous and shameful," he argued.
Avenatti suggested that Collins was auditioning for a future career as a lobbyist.
"This is all about her post-office job opportunities on K street," he suggested.
Avenatti represents Julie Swetnick, one of the women who has come forward with allegations.
Collins called Swetnick's allegation "outlandish" during her speech.
"We shall never forget. Not in Nov. Not in 2020. Not ever," Avenatti promised.
"Senator Collins should be ashamed of herself for attacking my client and Dr. Ford. How did she make a credibility determination as to my client?" he asked. "How is she qualified to do that without ANY investigation?"
"She did zero to determine whether my client and her witnesses were credible," he added.
