'She loves the spotlight': Fashion insiders say Linton 'won't be invited to Fashion week' after Instagram flub

She may have tagged them in a public Instagram post moments before berating a woman for not paying as much in taxes as herself and husband, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, but the brands flaunted by Scottish actress Louise Linton are not tagging her back.

As Page Six reports, luxury fashion bands are “distancing” themselves from Linton after she sent a sarcastic and mean-spirited post to a woman who criticized for parading her wealth in a picture of herself and her husband disembarking a government plane. In that photo, Linton tagged several luxury brands, include Hermes, and replied sarcastically when users called her out for the post.

“Cute! Aw!!! Did you think this was a personal trip?! Adorable!” Linton wrote in one response. “ than me and my husband?"

"Pretty sure the amount we sacrifice per year is a lot more than you’d be willing to sacrifice if the choice was yours," she added. You’re adorably out of touch.”

Many observers have nicknamed the incident Linton’s “let them eat cake” moment, in reference to former Queen of France Marie Antoinette.

“Louise loves the spotlight,” one fashion insider told Page Six of the incident. “At the Inauguration, she looked like a Barbie doll. You would never see Melania post a photo of herself striding in front of her husband, name-dropping expensive designer labels, especially on a government trip to discuss tax policy. She needs to exercise more discretion.”

“Louise won’t be invited to Fashion Week or the big galas,” another insisted. “And she certainly won’t be appearing in Vogue, if her wedding pictures [with Trump] hadn’t already killed her chances with Anna Wintour.”
