SNL's Trump and Chris Christie ponder VP candidates -- including George Zimmerman

Saturday Night Live opened with Donald Trump and a sycophantic Chris Christie searching desperately for the perfect vice presidential candidate -- giving Trump one last chance to get in some digs at some of his former rivals.

With cast members Darrell Hammond and Bobby Moynihan reprising their roles as Trump and Christie, the two laughed uproariously at the prospect of Jeb Bush as a running mate, while Trump admitted admiration for former HP CEO Carly Fiorina.

"I do feel a kinship with Carly," Trump explained. "She's also an outsider who ran a very unsuccessful business."

Christie then teased another possibility.

"How about a guy from a swing state, Florida," Christie suggested. "He's half-Hispanic, with a proven record for standing up for himself."

"George Zimmerman," Trump blurted out.

"No!" Christie immediately replied. "No no no no no no. Marco Rubio."

"Oh, little Marco," Trump said. "I can't ask him to be V.P. until his parents sign the release form."

Trump himself tossed out the prospect of recruiting House Speaker Paul Ryan.

"He said not right now, but he'll see you in Hell," Christie replied.
