Embattled Freedom Caucus leader Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was hilariously scorned online Wednesday after the conservative lawmaker lashed out at CNN for investigating the Ohio State sexual misconduct scandal.
“Now CNN is contacting all 100+ of our former staff and interns asking for dirt on me,” Rep. Jordan complained, of the standard news gathering technique. “Getting desperate!"
"How can you ever trust such fake news?” Rep. Jordan wondered.
Jordan's claim drew immediate criticism.
Brian Karen, the White House correspondent for Playboy magazine, wondered if Jordan inadvertently admitted that he was, in fact, fake news.
"With respect there Jimbo, I've seen you in the green room at CNN," Karen noted. "You've been on the air as a guest giving your side of several stories. Following this logic it means we can't trust you!"
John Legend, the Grammy, Oscar and Tony award winner musician chimed in to educate the conservative lawmaker.
"Definition of real news: calling a bunch of sources so you're confident that you're getting to the truth. Definition of fake news: making shit up to fit your narrative," Legend explained. "My fellow Ohioan seems to be a bit confused."
"Why don't you just come clean and quit calling all these men who looked up to you liars," Legend counseled.
