‘Sore loser’ Scott Walker goes on Facebook rant to defend bills stripping power from Democrat who beat him

Wisconsin Republican Scott Walker lost his gubernatorial re-election bid in November, making Democrat Tony Evers the state's next governor.

In the aftermath of the election, Wisconsin Republicans have plotted to strip Evers of many of the powers Walker enjoyed, so that the GOP agenda will remain in place despite the will of the state's voters.

Walker is now facing pressure to veto the power-stripping bills, including from former Republican governors in the state.

Walker and his fellow Republicans have been widelyslammed as sore losers.

Walker has not yet said what he'll do but on Tuesday morning posted a long Facebook rant about the bills and how Evers would not really have his powers stripped.

"The new governor will still have some of the strongest powers of any governor in the nation if these bills become law," Walker wrote, naming the right to veto legislation as one of those powers. Other powers he listed were the right to suggest a budget and to pardon convicted felons, as every other American governor does.

Walker went on to name the right to name his own cabinet—as almost every American elected executive does—as another right not being stripped.

"None of these things will change regardless of what I do with the bills passed in the state Legislature last week," he wrote.

Walker gave four factors for his decision on the bill, including "transparency" and "protecting the taxpayers."

"Will it continue to put checks and balances in place to ensure that state government is accountable to the hard-working people of Wisconsin?" he wrote. "For example, it makes sense that lawmakers should have some say in how the state might spend a multi-million legal settlement."
