South Carolina shooter's friend pleads guilty for lying to investigators

A South Carolina man plans to plead guilty to federal charges that accuse him of lying to investigators and concealing knowledge about his friend's plans to carry out a deadly mass shooting at a Charleston church last year.

Joseph Meek will plead guilty to two charges, according to a plea agreement filed in federal court on Monday. He was indicted for lying to an FBI agent after his childhood friend, Dylann Roof, allegedly opened fire during a June 17 Bible study at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal church.
