Vice President JD Vance was grossed out at the idea of someone eating mayonnaise with everything, but that's exactly what Stephen Miller, a top aide to President Donald Trump, does, according to his wife. And that prompted one MSNBC host to shake her head.
Katy Tur played a clip of Vance speaking with Miller's wife, Katie, about the issues crucial to the United States. The vice president addressed the condiment that he would choose if it were his only option for the rest of his life. He chose barbecue sauce.
Katie Miller questioned, "Not mayonnaise?"
"No. Abso — is that a question?" Vance asked, confused.
“Mayonnaise is like … in low doses it’s good, but it’s kind of … like I had a buddy who used to eat French fries with mayonnaise. I thought that was disgusting," Vance added.
“It’s the only thing my husband eats,” Miller confessed.
“With French fries, or like period?”
“Period," she replied.
“OK. Wow. Didn’t realize.”
“Yeah, he’s only a mayonnaise guy," said Miller.
“Ok, I learned something new about Stephen I didn’t know.”
“Yeah, it’s … whatever,” Miller looked away, shaking her head.
After showing the clip, Tur commented, "I like to think she meant it's the only condiment he eats on things. Hopefully not just alone by the spoonful. That's going to do it for me today," Tur finalized at the close of her show.
Miller is known for crafting the "child separation policy" under the first Trump administration, which tore children from their parents and put them in the custody of someone else while their parents faced deportation.
