'Disgusting human being': Trump spokesman triggered by Biden's Fourth of July speech

President Joe Biden managed once again to send former President Donald Trump's campaign spokesperson into conniptions on Thursday.

The president kicked off July 4 celebrations with a rousing speech at the White House honoring the sacrifice of veterans — but he appeared to veer off-script at one point to make a jab at former Trump for his disrespect of American troops.

Specifically, he referenced 2020 reporting in The Atlantic that Trump didn't want to visit a French gravesite for 1,800 U.S. Marines from World War I, disparaging them as "losers" and "suckers" for giving their lives for their country — a claim Biden also slammed Trump on directly during last week's debate in Atlanta.

"By the way, you know, I was in that World War I cemetery in France, the one that my — the former president didn't want to go and be up there. Probably shouldn't even say it," said Biden, a line that triggered laughter in the crowd.

But Trump spokesman Steven Cheung was not happy about it.

"Joe Biden is a disgusting human being," wrote Cheung, a firebrand with a reputation for trolling in his statements. "In his speech in front of veterans celebrating Independence Day, he peddled the false, made up story about 'suckers and losers' that has been thoroughly debunked by 19 administration officials."

It was also confirmed by former Secretary of Homeland Security and Trump's Chief of Staff Gen. John Kelly, who has confirmed Trump said, as Kelly stood in front of his son's grave in Arlington National Cemetery, "I don't get it...What was in it for them?"

Trump, for his part, has issued a challenge for Biden to accept another debate, on top of the one that is already scheduled to take place in September.
