Stewart: Republican diplomacy 'is like a glory h*le: Just stick it in and you worry about the consequences later'

Jon Stewart lashed out at Republican opposition to the prospect of a non-military solution to Syria's chemical arsenal on The Daily Show Monday.

To many conservatives, Stewart argued, "international diplomacy is like a glory h*le: Just stick it in, and you worry about the consequences later."

Stewart took particular issue with Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-SC) calling negotiations between the U.S. and Russia to take the weapons down "a debacle,"

"This is a debacle," Stewart said with a mocking faux-Southern lilt. "I have not seen a disaster such as this since I arrived at the Beauregard Cotillion with a magnolia in my hair when everyone else was wearing orchids. I mean, talk about a debacle."

Stewart resumed the accent after playing a clip of Graham saying he wanted to "punish" Syrian President Bashad al-Assar.

"I wanted to see him squirm," the host said. "I wanted to tie Assad up and spank his taut Syrian ... I'm getting the vapors. You can read all about it in my new book, Fifty Shades of Graham."
