Last September, President Donald Trump unilaterally rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) that shielded undocumented immigrants who were brought into the country as children from deportations.
Given this, the president could reinstate protections for DACA recipients anytime he wants -- except that he refuses to do so because he's using them as a bargaining chip in exchange for funds on his proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
During a CNN segment discussing DACA negotiations, Trump backer Jason Miller said that Democrats were to blame for DACA recipients lacking protections that would let them stay in the United States -- despite the fact that this is only an issue because of Trump's actions.
"Let's do something about Dreamers, and it's the Democrats on Capitol Hill that won't go and do it," Miller claimed. "They're letting him down. In fact, if I were a Dreamer or DACA recipient, I would be ticked off at Senate Democrats for being all lip service."
At this point, panelist Hilary Rosen put her foot down and read Miller the riot act over his falsehoods about the Democrats and DACA recipients.
"Your nose needs to grow to the end of this camera, because that's ridiculous," she fumed. "The fact is that the president is the one who pulled back on DACA. The president is the one trying to end DACA. Democrats are trying to get this presidential decree reversed. So come on. Stop it."
