Stormy Daniels hush money case could be Trump's 'most damaging': op-ed

Of Donald Trump's multiple legal headaches, the Stormy Daniels hush money case might prove the most painful, Newsweek's Sean O'Driscoll writes.

While Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's criminal case against Trump has garnered the least media attention of the former president's four criminal court cases, O'Driscoll notes it could result in jail time and create a major political embarrassment before the Republican convention in July.

The case "could end up being the most damaging of all the indictments the former president is facing," O'Driscoll writes.

New York City prosecutors contend Trump paid porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 and former Playboy model Karen McDougal $150,000 not to reveal his affairs with them before the 2016 presidential election, court records show.

Trump pleaded not guilty to the 34 felony charges and claims it's part of a witch hunt to keep him out of the White House.
