‘Stupid rich kid’ caught taking selfies during UN genocide speech – and she’s the daughter of a world leader

The daughter of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev is taking heat after she was caught on camera taking selfies and making faces as her father addressed the United Nations General Assembly on genocide.

According to the Daily Mail, 33-year-old Leyla Aliyeva, was sitting in the audience as her father spoke about ongoing tensions with neighboring Armenia when she pulled out her cellphone and began taking pictures of herself making shocked faces and mugging for the camera.

The New York Times has cast a jaundiced eye at President Aliyeva, calling him, "a masterful political Jekyll and Hyde," pointing out that he is a "dictator whose skillful politics and control of valuable natural resources have confronted American and European policy makers with what the cable released by WikiLeaks called 'a choice between U.S. interests and U.S. values.'"

Speaking at the UN, the Azerbaijan president was only minutes into his speech, decrying the fact that "more than one million of Azerbaijanis became refugees and internally displaced persons," because of Armenia, only to have his daughter be caught on a  split-screen making faces during the speech which televised worldwide.

As one social media observer noted, "This is simply lack of culture and stupidity of rich kids."
