’How stupid does he think the American people are?’: Michael Avenatti slams Brett Kavanaugh’s latest denial

Attorney Michael Avenatti dismissed the latest denial by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during a telephone interview with MSNBC on Wednesday.

"This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone. I don’t know who this is and this never happened," Kavanaugh said in a statement.

MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell asked Avenatti to respond.

"How stupid does he think that the American people really are?" he asked.

"This is a bunch of nonsense, what he is trying to sell to the American people," he argued. "I wish he would just be honest with people."

"Why does Brett Kavanaugh not want the American people to hear from Mark Judge?" he asked. "I can assure you, if Mark Judge had positive things to say about Brett Kavanaugh and could actually pass the smell test about the time period at issue, we would have heard from Mark Judge."

"Just now, we have Mark Judge is vehemently denying Ms. Swetnick's allegations," Mitchell replied.

"Well good. Let him appear under oath and testify," Avenatti suggested. "Let him meet with an FBI agent and make that statement."
