Supreme Court partially revives Trump's 'travel ban,' will hear appeal

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear arguments over President Donald Trump's proposed travel ban from several Muslim-majority countries.

Trump's proposed ban -- which would bar travel from Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Iran, Syria and Sudan -- has been repeatedly struck down by lower courts as unconstitutional.

In agreeing to hear the case, the Supreme Court partially reinstated a portion of the ban, and people from those six countries who do not have bona fide ties with people or entities within the United States will be barred from entry. The order is set to go into effect within the next 72 hours.

The initial travel ban executive order was originally justified as a temporary measure put in place so that the Trump administration could enact new vetting measures to better screen people coming into the country.

Despite multiple legal setbacks, Trump has vowed to take the travel ban to the Supreme Court, while at the same time issuing multiple tweets attacking lower courts for ruling against his executive order.
