SWEEP! Democrat officially takes down the last Orange County Republican in Congress

The sweep is official.

The last race has been called in Orange County, a suburban area south of Los Angeles that was been a traditional GOP stronghold, and Democrat Gil Cisneros will be headed to Congress instead of Republican Young Kim.

The Korean-American Kim had been a darling of conservatives as she helped push back on the narrative that the party was dominated by older white men.

Republican operatives had been crowing about her victory for more than a week following the election, only to see the race officially called for the Democrat, putting all six seats in Orange County in Democratic hands.
