Tea Party Gov. LePage may resign after humiliating Maine with 'c*cksucker' rant and racist remarks

Maine's long statewide nightmare might finally be over soon.

Gov. Paul LePage, a Tea Party favorite known for making inflammatory statements, told Bangor talk radio station WVOM that he might not finish up his second term as governor.

"I’m looking at all options," LePage told the station, via the Portland Press Herald. "I think some things I’ve been asked to do are beyond my ability. I’m not going to say that I’m not going to finish it. I’m not saying that I am going to finish it."

LePage also conceded that "if I’ve lost my ability to help Maine people, maybe it’s time to move on" from being governor.

During his interview with WVOM, LePage again apologized to State Representative Drew Gattine, whom he called a "son-of-a-b*tch socialist c*cksucker" in an angry voicemail message last week. LePage says his rant was in response to a report that Gattine had called the governor a racist, although Gattine denies he ever said such a thing.

"When I was called a racist I just lost it, and there’s no excuse,” the governor said. “It’s unacceptable. It’s totally my fault.”
