A Wisconsin teacher is on leave while school officials investigate a video of her using a racial slur in class, reports CBS 58.
In a video of the incident, the teacher says the n-word repeatedly, then doubles down on her right to use the slur.
A girl in the class said the n-word to another student. When students became uncomfortable, the teacher informed them that her nanny growing up was a woman of color and that she would have been fine with being called the n-word.
According to CBS 58, officials at the school were aware of the incident but did not immediately pursue an investigation.
"That’s not a word anyone should use in school, let alone a teacher,” a student told CBS 58.
