Crowd erupts in threats during Ted Cruz's GOP speech: 'He should be shot!'

Violent threats rang out from the crowd during Sen. Ted Cruz's speech at the GOP convention in Dallas on Thursday night.

Cruz was one of the featured speakers at the convention, which focused on selling President Donald Trump's accomplishments ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Cruz railed against "evil" forces in America, and compared Democratic lawmakers like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Senate candidate James Talarico, a former state lawmaker in Texas. Cruz's speech compelled at least one person in the crowd to let out a violent threat that was captured by C-SPAN's cameras.

"He should be shot!" the attendee yelled when Cruz mentioned both Mamdani and Talarico.

Another attendee called the lawmakers "devils."
