'That’s not true': CNN host extinguishes right-wing Republican Matt Gaetz after he claims Democrats don't support security

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is spinning the GOP talking point that Democrats don't care about border security because they won't shell out $5 billion for President Donald Trump's border wall. CNN host Ana Cabrera flattened him with her fact-check.

"Democrats keep voting against all things that we hope will keep the country safer like sanctuary city reform, like ending chain migration,” the conservative claimed.

“That’s not true,” Cabrera replied. “That’s not true.”

"I've been around here long enough to remember in February, when the Democrats came forward and said we will give you $25 billion for border security in exchange for a pathway to citizenship for DACA," she recalled.

Gaetz said Republicans aren't willing to make a "deal" that gives amnesty for those children of immigrants who were forcibly brought to the United States as children.

Americans have indicated they do not want Donald Trump's border wall, to the tune of a record-breaking 43 percent and Texans, in particular, don't want the border wall. However, 83 percent of Americans do want DACA.
