'That's so cheap!': Meghan McCain blows up at Joy Behar for dubbing Fox News 'sexual harassment central'

“The View” co-hosts Meghan McCain and Joy Behar clashed on Friday over a discussion on the partisan hypocrisy surrounding sexual misconduct allegations.

The women were discussing Donald Trump’s late-night tweet Thursday about sexual misconduct allegations levied against Sen. Al Franken (D-MN), who’s received bipartisan condemnation over a 2006 incident involving a TV news anchor.

Whoopi Goldberg noted Trump is suddenly “very chatty about sexual misconduct,” considering he’s yet to comment on the allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, or those made against himself in 2016.

“You’re probably not the best person to be commenting on this, sir,” Goldberg coached the president. “Maybe you just want to sit this one out.”

Behar later pointed out that there’s a distinct difference between how men like Franken or comedian Louis C.K. have handled these allegations, versus Trump and Moore who not only denied the claims but also “said these women are liars.”

“There’s a lot Democrats calling for [Franken] to step down,” McCain replied. “If you can believe it, I don’t just watch Fox.”

“Fox is sexual harassment central, hello!” Behar quipped.


“You know what, that’s so cheap!” McCain shot back. “I’m trying to talk about the fact that I’m watching other networks and people in your party are calling for the stepping down of Al Franken because of this investigation.”

“Noted,” Behar said.

After some back-and-forth as Goldberg tried to understand what had just transpired McCain explained, “I was responding to Joy.”

“It’s fine,” McCain continued. “I just don’t think that saying, ‘Fox is X, like, I know I used to work there. We’re talking about the present—this is what’s exhausting about this conversation is that I totally agree with you that I think it’s absolutely disgusting at this point that we’re still having conversations about Roy Moore, we’ve talked about it on this show. But right now we’re talking about another senator.”

“We’re also talking about hypocrisy, which is what provoked my outburst,” Behar said.

“About Fox!” McCain countered.

“That’s what we’re talking about,” Behar explained. “Trump’s hypocrisy, Fox’s hypocrisy, Breitbart, Sean what’s-his-face Hannity.”

“What about the hypocrisy of Bill Clinton right now?” McCain asked.
