'That’s trouble -- that’s tough’: Trump offers vapid four-word summation of Poland’s WWII horrors

President Donald Trump on Thursday paid tribute to the staggering losses the nation of Poland suffered during World War II by saying what they endured was "tough."

"In 1939 you were invaded yet again, by Nazi Germany from the west, and the Soviet Union from the east," Trump said during his address in Warsaw. "That’s trouble. That’s tough. Under a double occupation, the Polish people endured evils beyond description... the occupations, the Holocaust, the Warsaw Ghetto and the Warsaw Ghetto uprising."

Nearly 6 million Poles died in World War II, or nearly one-fifth of the country's population.
