The FBI is investigating 850 domestic terrorists who are a 'clear and present danger': report

While President Donald Trump claims that the greatest threat to Americans is an Islamic terrorist, the FBI has revealed it is currently investigating over 850 domestic terrorists they believe present a "clear danger" to the United States.

The information provided by the FBI on the individuals explained that 40 percent of possible domestic terrorists have anti-government or anti-authority sentiments, ABC News reported. These are similar to terrorists like Timothy McVeigh who bombed the Oklahoma City Federal building as a response to the ATF raid on a Waco, Texas cult.

The "significant majority" of those identified by the FBI are white nationalists or white supremacists. Only 20 percent of the FBI field offices are handling the domestic terrorism cases, most are going through the national FBI.

“In fact, there have been more arrests and deaths in the United States caused by domestic terrorists than international terrorists in recent years,” the head of the FBI's counterterrorism division, Assistant Director Michael McGarrity, told a House panel.

ABC News noted that most of the domestic terrorism concerns are down but cases of white supremacist are significantly on the rise.
