'The real n****r in the woodpile': Conservative Tory British MP caught using N-word while defending Brexit

A far-right member of Parliament in the U.K. is coming under fire after describing the country leaving the European Union without working out a deal as a “real n*****r in the woodpile."

Anne Marie Morris, who represents Newton Abbott, was speaking at a meeting of those skeptical of the EU in Central London while discussing the financial services deals the UK could negotiate with Brussels, the Huffington Post reported. She joined fellow MPs Bill Cash and John Redwood, neither of whom denounced her use of the word.

Morris was explaining her perspective that only seven percent of financial services would be impacted by Brexit.

“Now I’m sure there will be many people who’ll challenge that, but my response and my request is, look at the detail, it isn’t all doom and gloom," she said. “Now we get to the real n****r in the woodpile which is in two years what happens if there is no deal?”

Despite using the racist term, none of her fellow panelists, including Tory MPs Bill Cash and John Redwood, reacted.

Morris later half-apologized, but only to those who might have been offended, saying that her use of the word was "totally unintentionally."

Prime Minster Theresa May told the Commons that all should "ensure we use appropriate language at all times.”

She was quickly denounced by one audience member who called the comments "disgusting."

“It was almost as though she felt like she was talking to her friends in a private audience," said Colton Richards.

Tim Farron, leader of the Liberal Democrat Party agreed, saying, “This disgusting comment belongs in the era of the Jim Crow laws and has no place in our Parliament. The Conservative Party should withdraw the whip from Anne Marie Morris and they should do it today.
