Secret Service 'threw Trump under the bus': National security expert blames Trump for Mar-a-Lago breach

On Wednesday, former Homeland Security official Juliette Kayyem explained how President Donald Trump has set low standards for security at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Earlier this week, an unauthorized Chinese woman identified as Yujing Zhang was arrested after entering Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort with "malicious malware."

According to CNN's Erin Burnett, security at Mar-a Lago allowed Zhang to enter the property because of a misunderstanding due to a language barrier.

"Mar-a-Lago staff said that they first gave her access to the property on Saturday due to a potential language barrier issue," Burnett said.

However, the Secret Service had a different story.

"But in the criminal complaint, Secret Service agent very explicitly say they spent time with her and talked to her and quote 'she exhibited a detailed knowledge and ability to converse in and understand even subtle nuances of the English language.' So this not speaking English well appears to be a farce," Burnett said.

"Right, she is a fraud and she is not some innocent Chinese woman who happened to see an advertisement that said come meet the Trump's at Mar-a-Lago. She is playing for someone. And we don't know if it's a government entity, or someone testing the system," Kayyem said.

" It explains why the Secret Service last night essentially threw the White House under the bus in their explanation saying we didn't set the standard. That came from Mar-a-Lago or Trump directly. That this would only be a swept facility and someone tested it. And we know she is not the first," she said.
