Joy Behar slams the debate expectations game: If Trump 'doesn't belch in her face' he will win

If you're noticing cable news pundits throw out differences in expectations for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton than her opponent Donald Trump, you're not alone.

On Monday's episode of "The View," co-host Joy Behar noted, "The bar is set so low for Trump as long as he doesn’t belch in her face he’ll win. I mean, really, no one expects him to have any brains at all tonight, so anything that he does that 'looks presidential,'" she said with air quotes. "Is going to give him" a win. She went on to bring up the 2008 debate between then Vice Presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sarah Palin, who she said were thought to have tied in their debate. "Yeah, so, really, what are your expectations for this."

ABC News analyst Sunny Hostin cited former Bush-Cheney strategist Matthew Dowd, who said "One of them has to prove she has a heart. The other has to prove he has a brain." She went on to say that if Trump can manage to give a working knowledge of foreign policy that she will be impressed. Clinton, by contrast, is expected to have that already.

The other ladies remarked that they are sick of the same nonsense about the emails and back and forth and would rather hear about solutions and get to the bottom of actual policies.
