'These are our children!' MSNBC host unloads on Trump over Boy Scout Jamboree speech

President Donald Trump's Monday night speech before the Boy Scout Jamboree was still a hot topic of discussion on cable news Tuesday morning, and MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle issued a scathing assessment of the president's decision to deliver a highly politicized speech to children.

After showing clips of Trump's speech -- in which he once against attacked the news media and got thousands of Boy Scouts to boo former President Barack Obama -- Ruhle asked reporter Jonathan Swan if Trump owed the Boy Scouts of America an apology.

"I just don't think Donald Trump is capable of adapting his rhetoric," Swan said, while trying unsuccessfully to hold back laughter about the event.

Ruhle, however, didn't see anything funny about the incident at all.

"Should we laugh about that?" she asked him pointedly. "At the end of the day, a culture of respect couldn't be more important... these are our children!"

"I'm not making a defense of Donald Trump," Swan replied. "I'm just saying we have seen, in his two years in public life now, no ability to moderate his rhetoric in front of any audience."

Ruhle, however, didn't think that this excused Trump's behavior in any way.

"You've got to set the bar for the kids of our country," she said.
