‘They’re hurting the country’: Colin Powell’s chief of staff nails ‘Godfather’ Trump as head of GOP’s 'mafia family’

Retired Col. Lawrence Wilkerson is concerned that President Donald Trump's administration is something "like a mafia family" with the president as the "godfather."

"What his testimony read like, to me, is someone from the outside, with some integrity, commenting on the nature of a mafia family," the former chief of staff to Colin Powel told MSNBC's Chris Hayes Wednesday. "I mean, that's the way I view President Trump now, as a godfather, as the member that orchestrates everything within his team and expects loyalty, honest or otherwise."

He went on to say that he expects it'll take a while for his party to hold Trump accountable.

"They're going to accomplish these goals while this guy is running around the White House because he's a Republican," Wilkerson continued. "And it's going to take a while for them to realize they're not going to accomplish a thing but what they're doing is hurting the country."
