The toxicology report performed on Thomas Crooks, the man who attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania ahead of the 2024 election, includes three glaring omissions, investigative journalist Ken Silva revealed on Monday, omissions that may hold answers to lingering questions, he said.
“The biggest question I have is about this toxicology report which I obtained,” Silva said in an interview with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson that aired Monday.
“I didn't think much of the documents, they didn't really seem to show any scandal to me at first until a Twitter sleuth notified me a couple months later and said, 'have you looked at this toxicology report, it seems incomplete.'”
Crooks was killed in Butler, Pennsylvania after firing off several shots aimed at Trump, then the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Ariel Goldschmidt, the chief medical examiner for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, later performed the autopsy of Crooks’ body, including a toxicology report, which identifies the presence of drugs in biological samples.
While Silva said nothing initially stood out to him in Crooks' toxicology report after obtaining it through a months-long legal battle, the tip from the online sleuth would later reveal the report was missing key details.
“The medical examiner collected eight specimens from Thomas Crooks: four tubes of heart blood, a tube of urine, some eye fluid, bile, and then an envelope of hair,” Silva told Carlson.
“Now, these are numbered one through eight, and if you look at the findings, there's three specimens that Goldschmidt – the medical examiner – collected and either didn't test or didn't include in the report: that's the bile, one tube of blood and the envelope of hair.”
Were the aforementioned findings on the three biological samples included in the report, Silva said, it could have provided answers to key questions.
“So I don't know what to make of it, but these samples, you could argue, would have shown evidence of some kind of, perhaps, psychotropic drug use,” Silva said. “I don't know.”
Crooks has received renewed attention after recently obtained FBI records revealed that the would-be assassin exchanged two emails with a Butler County Sheriff deputy ahead of the assassination attempt, a revelation that sent MAGA world into a frenzy.
