MAGA podcaster Tim Pool: FBI thinks I may be a 'victim of a crime'

Following bombshell news this week that prosecutors said major right-wing influencers unwittingly worked for a company that was a front for a Russian influence operation, MAGA podcaster and Donald Trump ally Tim Pool said was contacted by federal law enforcement because he may be the victim of a crime.

On Thursday, Tim Pool, who has interviewed Trump and Laura Loomer — and who Trump has shouted out from the stage at a number of his rallies — shared on X that he'd been "contacted by the FBI as a potential victim of a crime."

"The FBI believes I have information relevant to an ongoing criminal investigation and have requested a voluntary interview," he said. "I will be offering my assistance in this matter."

Pool didn't specify what the authorities were investigating, but he hosts the conservative Tim Pool Daily Show and Timcast IRL, as well as the Culture War podcast, which was licensed by Tenet Media.

Tenet Media appears to match the description of the media company that a Russian state-controlled media outlet was accused of funding, according to an NBC News review of charging documents, business records and social media profiles.

On Wednesday, federal prosecutors said a pair of Russian nationals were chargedRussian nationals were charged with conspiracy to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Both remained at large.

“The Justice Department has charged two employees of RT, a Russian state-controlled media outlet, in a $10 million scheme to create and distribute content to U.S. audiences with hidden Russian government messaging,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a news release.

Garland said Russia's authoritarian regime has been exploiting the United States' free exchange of ideas to "covertly further its own propaganda efforts."

Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco added that RT "co-opted" online commentators by funneling them millions of dollars to "pump pro-Russia propaganda and disinformation across social media to U.S. audiences."
