Ethics investigation of Mike Lindell-allied MAGA elections clerk can move forward: report

On Tuesday, The Denver Postreported that an ethics board in Colorado is allowing the investigation of Mesa County elections clerk Tina Peters to proceed.

"The Colorado Independent Ethics Commission did not publicly discuss the complaint, only identified as 21-18, except to vote unanimously, 4-0, in in favor of declaring it non-frivolous," reported Saja Hindi. "Landman confirmed that ID number is tied to her filing. Another hearing date has not yet been scheduled."

The report goes on to note that the actions of Peters and Deputy Director Belinda Knisley "are under investigation by state and federal authorities in connection to a potential election security breach."

A lawsuit filed by the Colorado Secretary of State against Peters earlier this year resulted in a judge barring her from overseeing elections in Mesa County that occurred earlier this month.

Peters, an avidly pro-Trump elections official, has been an avid promoter of conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, even speaking at the "cyber symposium" of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell. She reportedly went into hiding for a time as accusations began to mount against her for misconduct.

In addition to the security breach, Peters has been accused of leaving ballots uncounted in some local races.
