'Way worse than the public knows': Trump attorney's phone reportedly tapped by hackers

Chinese hackers reportedly tapped the cellphone of a lead attorney for President-elect Donald Trump, and officials probing the attack said the scope is "way worse than the public knows."

The FBI informed attorney Todd Blanche last week that hackers obtained voice recordings and texts from his phone, CNN reported Thursday afternoon, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

None of the data taken was related to Trump, according to the report. Some included communications with family.

The hack comes after fellow Trump attorney Lindsey Halligan was targeted by Iranian hackers in August, according to CNN. It also comes as Chinese hackers attempt to breach the devices of Trump, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), Jared Kushner and Eric Trump, according to the report. Members of the Biden administration and Harris-Walz campaign have also been targeted.
