Far-right activist Laura Loomer drew a blistering public rebuke from the head of President Donald Trump's Justice Department after targeting one of his top deputies.
Attorney General Todd Blanche tore into Loomer on Tuesday in a post on X after she used a lengthy thread to attack Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward, accusing him of sending "insulting lowball offers" to veterans and families sickened by toxic water at Camp Lejeune.
"Laura, you should be transparent with your followers, and you are dead wrong about Stanley," Blanche wrote. "He is a patriot who is fighting for POTUS and the American people every day."
Blanche insisted Woodward was not acting alone. "Decisions in cases like Camp Lejeune are made by me, ODAG, Stanley's team, the civil division and the trial team, consulting with and keeping the White House counsel's office and DOW updated along the way," he wrote. "We love our veterans and we want to get these cases right."
He closed with a jab at the MAGA activist herself. "Find a different obsession other than going after one of DOJ's best fighters," Blanche wrote.
Loomer's thread laid out what she described as "one of the most egregious examples of government failure to address toxic exposure and deliver justice to military families." She said she had obtained documentation of five offers of judgment the Justice Department sent to people who served or worked at the Marine Corps base and later developed illnesses such as cancer and Parkinson's disease.
She then turned her fire squarely on Woodward, whom she branded "a lifelong Democrat at the DOJ," and warned the Trump administration was handing Democrats a campaign weapon ahead of the midterms. Federal judges, she wrote, had set an Oct. 30 deadline for a settlement, with a trial set to begin Oct. 26.
"This is a political disaster waiting to happen," Loomer wrote. "The Democrats will say that it was HIS DOJ that screwed over sick US Marines and their families, and Stanley Woodward is handing the Democrats that ammunition on a silver platter."
She also appealed to Blanche directly, urging him to "step in NOW to stop Woodward from undermining President Trump," and pressed for the fight to land on Trump's radar ahead of his North Carolina rally.
"He has got to be one of the WORST hires of the second Trump administration," Loomer wrote of Woodward. "But, I tried to warn people."
