The fierce back and forth between border policy adviser Tom Homan and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) saw no signs of slowing Wednesday after the progressive lawmaker accused him and other Trump administration officials of breaking the law in their border security efforts.
“If anyone’s breaking the law in this situation, it’s not the members of Congress. It’s the Department of Homeland Security. It’s people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram post. “You lay a finger on…any of the representatives that were there – you lay a finger on them – we are going to have a problem.”
Appearing on CNN, Homan didn’t hold back as he delivered a blistering response to Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks.
"First of all, you can’t intimidate me. Come on, give me a break,” Homan said Wednesday. “I was wearing a green uniform, Border Patrol agent, for five years before she was even born. I had more than three decades enforcing immigration law before she became a member of Congress.”
“I worked for six presidents,” he added. “But you can’t deny the success of the Trump administration when it comes to border security.”

Homan then accused the Democratic lawmaker of playing politics and warned: “You can’t knowingly impede a law enforcement officer. That is a felony.”
“You can not support ICE, shame on you. You can support sanctuary cities, shame on you," he said. "But you can’t cross the line."
But Homan wasn’t done going after Ocasio-Cortez as he laid into her New York-area congressional district.
“This administration has done more to protect her district than she has,” Homan declared. “She ought to be thanking the members of this administration, the men and women of ICE, who protect this country and make her community safer.”
He concluded his verbal rant with one last message for Ocasio-Cortez: “She ought to love her community more than she hates Trump.”
