Tomi Lahren goes ballistic: It used to be a 'given' that black people would stand for the national anthem

Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren on Wednesday lashed out at the National Football League over a policy allowing players to kneel for the national anthem at the upcoming Super Bowl.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends, Lahren said that she was outraged that the NFL rejected a Super Bowl advertisement from a conservative group that would have told viewers to stand during the anthem.

Lahren argued it used to be a "given" that African-American players, who now kneel to protest systemic racism, would stand for them anthem.

"It's now become too political or too controversial to ask Americans to stand for the American flag," she complained. "That used to be a given, that used to be something that all Americans were proud to do regardless of political affiliation, race, gender -- that used to be a given! And now it's not!"

"And we have the NFL, in part, to thank for that," the Fox News contributor continued. "What have they done for the last two seasons? They've bent over backwards for activist groups and spit in the face of patriotic Americans, veterans and our military. And now they don't want to be too political, give me a break."

According to Lahren, the NFL now "stands to bow down to activist groups."

"Standing for the flag and then anthem, now that's too political," she quipped, concluding her rant.
