Top Judiciary Committee Democrat 'absolutely' prepared to open investigation into Kavanaugh next year

At a debate in California on Wednesday night, the senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee said she is more than prepared to open up another investigation into controversial Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was credibly accused of sexual assault when he was a teen.

According to the Washington Post, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) was pressed about Kavanaugh, who was elevated to the court in one of the tightest confirmation votes in Senate history.

Feinstein, who could conceivably head the Judiciary Committee should the Democrats take control of the Senate in November, enthusiastically endorsed the idea of opening up a new inquiry of the conservative Kavanaugh who has also been accused of perjuring himself during hearing testimony.

“Oh, I’d be in favor of opening up the allegations. Absolutely,” Feinstein replied when asked if she would be interested in a further inquiry into President Donald Trump's second nominee to the nation's highest court.

According to the Post, Feinstein's comments infuriated Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). He appeared later on Fox News to rant, "Here’s what I want every Democratic candidate for the Senate to be asked tomorrow: Do you agree with Dianne Feinstein."

"Are you for more humiliation, degrading treatment of this fine man? Are you for continuing this debacle?” the southern senator, who became Kavanaugh's biggest booster, continued.
