'Hurting President Trump': Campaign slams claim ‘loyalty-first cabinet’ being built
December 08, 2023
Former President Donald Trump’s campaign Friday issued a typo-laden message attacking a recent, and jarring, report about his “loyalty first” cabinet shortlist: “These are an unwelcomed distraction,” it read.
The message arrived a day after Axios reported on a “loyalty-first cabinet” that anonymous sources said could include Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon and Kash Patel.
“The media, in their anti-Trump zeal, has been all-to-willing [sic] to continue using anonymous sourcing and speculation about a second Trump administration in an effort to prevent a second Trump administration,” campaign advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita stated.
“People publicly discussing potential administration jobs for themselves or their friends are, in fact, hurting President Trump…and themselves.”

Wiles and LaCivita contend Trump has no interest in “desk hunters” and is currently focused on defeating “Crooked Joe Biden.”
“There will be an appropriate time to focus on such matters after winning next November,” the message concludes, “and it will follow President Trump’s lead.”
Trump’s top cabinet picks are people willing to follow the former president’s lead, Axios reported Thursday.
Sources reportedly told Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei, “If Trump won in 2024, he'd turn to loyalists who share his zeal to punish critics, purge non-believers, and take controversial legal and military action.”
As detailed by Axios, picks for vice president include election-denier and U.S. Senate hopeful Kari Lake, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Carlson, the favorite of former First Lady Melania Trump.
