President Donald Trump on Tuesday promised major changes are coming soon to the way the school system in America operates.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said states should control their own education matters, which he said will happen “very soon.” The comments came after he praised Tennessee lawmakers who are debating a state education bill.
“Congratulations to Tennessee Legislators who are working hard to pass School Choice this week, which I totally support,” Trump wrote Tuesday afternoon. “We will very soon be sending Education BACK TO THE STATES, where it belongs. It is our goal to bring Education in the United States to the highest level, one that it has never attained before.”

Trump in the past has suggested eliminating federal departments and leaving states to shoulder the responsibilities that would traditionally fall on the federal government.
A day after his return to the White House, Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity that a “big discussion would” also take place about the future of FEMA.
“FEMA is going to be a whole big discussion very shortly because I’d rather see the states take care of their own problems,” Trump said.
