Trump assails 'absolutely crazy' Epstein 'scam' after his lawyers meet with Maxwell
President Donald Trump issued a blistering statement about the Jeffrey Epstein case after his lawyers met with one of Epstein's co-conspirators.
"The Radical Left Democrats are doing everything in their power to distract and obfuscate from our GREAT six months of service to America, results of which many are saying is the BEST six months in Presidential history," Trump posted on Truth Social.
"They have gone absolutely CRAZY, and are playing another Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax but, this time, under the guise of what we will call the Jeffrey Epstein SCAM," the post continued.
Trump has sought ways to distance himself from the Epstein story, which has consumed his presidency for the last two weeks. However, news outlets like The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have published numerous reports about the close ties between the two men.
"As things are revealed and, I hope will take place quickly, you will see that it is yet another Democrat CON JOB," Trump wrote.
"Hopefully, the Grand Jury Files will put an end to this HOAX. Everyone should see what is there, but people who are innocent should not be hurt," the statement continued.
