Trump: There 'absolutely was spying' on my campaign and I hope AG Barr 'takes it up' with criminal charges

President Donald Trump on Thursday insisted that federal law enforcement investigate alleged "spying" by the FBI against his 2016 campaign.

In comments made at the White House, Trump said that he agreed with Attorney General William Barr's assessment that his 2016 campaign was spied on.

"What [Barr] said yesterday was absolutely true...there was spying," the president insisted.

Trump went on to say that he hopes Barr "takes up" an investigation into the matter.
