A Republican lawmaker who weighed in to support Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the former president's recent multi-count felony conviction in New York got a brutal reminder from social media.
Congressman Andy Biggs, who was ordered to testify in front of a grand jury as Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, leads a probe into the historic events that followed the November 2020 election, took to social media on Friday to proclaim that Trump's criminal jury verdict was rigged from jump.
"Donald Trump’s trial was rigged from the start," he wrote. His statement came shortly after it was revealed that a comment left on the New York court system's Facebook page seemed to imply that the jury was corrupted.
The internet troll at the center of that controversy ended up admitting he made it all up, but Biggs never posted an update or acknowledged that news.
The comments under Biggs' post include references to the fact that, in 2022, he "denied he sought a pardon from then-President Donald Trump for any part in connection with the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol."
"Pardon me?" wrote @JoJoFromJerz, who included screenshots of the so-called internet troll's admission.
@thejackhopkins, a self-identified former Republican, said, "Andy Biggs asked Donald Trump for a Presidential Pardon. He's also a sorry-a-- son of a b----."
@herbiechar wrote, "Andy Biggs needs investigated as to why he asked for a Pardon. What crimes did Andy Biggs commit???"
@thefrodriguez also chimed in:
"PARDON seeking andy biggs is LYING. Why do you ask for a pardon unless you think you've committed a crime. Wheres the EVIDENCE CRIMINAL? CONVICTED FELON donald."
Conservative attorney and anti-Trump activist George Conway was more straight forward in his approach to Biggs.
"You are a lying idiot," Conway wrote in response to Biggs on Saturday.
