Trump becoming increasingly upset that he wasn’t interviewed for Bob Woodward’s upcoming book: report

On September 11th, legendary journalist Bob Woodward, whose reporting on the Watergate scandal helped bring down Richard Nixon, is set to release a new book about the Trump administration.

The book, called "Fear: Trump in the White House" is based on 19 months' worth of reporting.

Unsurprisingly, there's one person who's not happy with the expose: President Donald Trump.

CNN reports that the president is not pleased that Woodward didn't interview him for the book. Several sources close to the president told CNN that he's become increasingly agitated in recent weeks that Woodward didn't speak with him prior to the book's publication.

"Trump's irritation reflects a heightened sense of unease in the West Wing about next week's release of the veteran reporter's book "Fear: Trump in the White House," which details life in the Trump administration," CNN notes.

Woodward appears to have made an effort to interview the president, but discussions with top staffers didn't pan out.

After a tell-all by Michael Wolff revealed Trump officials to be not entirely prepared for the office of chief executive, Chief of Staff John Kelly reportedly instituted tighter controls on access to the president.

"After that, the rule was no more book interviews," a source close to the White House told CNN.
