Trump bizarrely claims 'many' federal workers want to go without paychecks until he gets his wall

On Christmas morning, President Donald Trump held a press conference at the White House. The President has said that he will forgo his usual holiday trip to Florida until the government shutdown is resolved.

Yet, the shutdown stems from the President's demand for funding for a border wall. Democrats have so far refused to budge on the issue.

At the press conference, President Trump claimed that the thousands of federal workers who are currently without pay also want a wall and are willing to go without compensation until funding for the wall is secured.

"Many of those workers have said to me, communicated, stay out until you get the funding for the wall," he said.

"These federal workers want the wall."

It's not clear which federal workers are trading their pay in exchange for the wall.
