Trump busted for blatantly lying about his past Syria tweets by ex-Obama official

President Donald Trump angrily ranted on Twitter Monday that the New York Times was supposedly lying about the fact that his Syria policy has undergone multiple changes in just the last three weeks.

However, former Obama Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security official Eric Columbus caught the president in a blatant lie and showed that he has dramatically reversed his position from what it was last month.

On Monday, Trump insisted his current policy is "no different from my original statements, we will be leaving at a proper pace while at the same time continuing to fight ISIS and doing all else that is prudent and necessary."

However, as Columbus points out, Trump on December 20th tweeted out that he wanted to let other countries in the region battle with ISIS rather than continue U.S. involvement.

"Russia, Iran, Syria and many others are not happy about the U.S. leaving... because they will have to fight ISIS... without us," Trump wrote.

Over the weekend, Trump national security adviser John Bolton did a major walkback of the president's plans to pull U.S. troops out of Syria and made any pullout conditional on conditions that will likely not be met, such as Turkey pledging to not attack Kurdish forces in Syria.
