Trump claims $34.8M fundraising haul after guilty verdict

Donald Trump's 2024 campaign team told reporters he raked in $34.8 million from donors on Thursday after the guilty verdict in his felony trial was read.

The money was mainly from small dollar donors, with reporters claiming it was one of the most lucrative 24 hours for campaign fundraising yet for the Trump campaign.

Trump has spent hefty sums of campaign dollars to fight four criminal trial he's involved in. Thursday's verdict in the business fraud case involving hush money payments paid to adult movie star Stormy Daniels to cover up a sexual relationship is the first to have reached a conclusion.

Observers noticed that the donation site WinRed went down due to the amount of traffic to the site. Kyle Tharp, who authors a newsletter about online tactics, posted screen captures saying that Trump's team had to pivot to "a glitchy Anedot page (a rival payment processor) to collect donations."

Last month, Trump claimed that he pulled in $50.5 million from a large Mar-a-Lago fundraiser with wealthy Republican donors.
