'Still serious': Legal expert says not to underestimate Trump co-defendants' conduct
Former President Donald Trump may get most of the attention as the most important defendant in the Georgia election racketeering case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis — but people need to pay attention to the alleged crimes of his co-defendants, argued former federal prosecutor Kristy Greenberg on MSNBC Thursday evening.
This came in the middle of a discussion about Scott Hall, the former bail bondsman implicated in the breach of voting equipment in Coffee County, along with pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell, and the first person in the case to plead guilty.
"This is the more bizarre rando part of the defense," said anchor Ari Melber, himself an attorney. "They chose to indict these people. We know there were others they look at that they did not indict. How does a prosecutor try to convince a jury, although this is bananas — I don't think Mr. Hall was high on the list, I don't think he was going to pull off issues. Not all this is equal, but pawns and foot soldiers still must be dealt with."

"Well, it is still serious, them too," said Greenberg. "Maybe it's not as serious as Donald Trump, surely, but it's still serious. He, as part of his political tourism, went to tour Dominion voting equipment. That's not something the average citizen gets to do and gets access to voting machines. That's a real breach of our election integrity. That should be punished."
"Seems like a worthy case Fani Willis brought, and it has real value to her," Greenberg continued. "Because once he pled guilty, Sidney Powell was close to follow."
"Building her case from the ground up has been valuable in continuing to move up the ladder," she continued.
