'Lol, ok': Trump hiring man said to have 'sued a cow' leads to internet ridicule

Donald Trump's critics laughed at the president-elect's announcement on Saturday.

Trump took to Truth Social over the weekend, where he announced a role in his upcoming administration for the CEO of the social media platform.

Trump's announcement of a spot for Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes prompted one reporter to describe purported "conflicts of interest."

On social media, the news was met mostly with jokes.

Artist Art Candee shared the news and wrote, "You know, the former House Rep. who kept planting bogus intel about the Biden family and Ukraine on Fox News."

"Clown. Show," the artist added.

Santiago Mayer, a political commentator and the founder of Voters Of Tomorrow, said, "Every time anyone mentions Devin Nunes my immediate reaction is 'you mean the guy who sued a cow over mean tweets?'"

Mayer was referring to the notion that Nunes has "sued a number of people who were mean to him online, including the Twitter parody accounts Devin Nunes' Mom and Devin Nunes' Cow," according to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Lawyer and activist Adam Cohen said, "Devin Nunes? You mean the guy who sued a Twitter 'cow' for mean tweets and was laughed out of court and then resigned from Congress in disgrace to run Donald Trump's failed Twitter ripoff company."

"THAT Devine Nunes?" Cohen wrote on Saturday. "lol, ok."

Retired nuclear scientist Cheryl Rofer said, "Seems odd to see the words 'Devine Nunes' and 'intelligence' in the same sentence."

The social media account featured in the Nunes litigation, Devin Nunes' Cow, simply responded with, "I give up" in response to the Trump announcement.
